The Highrange Development Society (HDS), in collaboration with the Social Work Department of Ettumanurappan College, Caritas India, and St. George UP School, Vazhathope, organized a cancer awareness program, "Aashakiranam," on the occasion of World Cancer Day. The initiative aimed to educate and empower communities about cancer prevention and early detection.

The event commenced with a cancer awareness rally at 10:00 AM, where students, teachers, and non-teaching staff actively participated. Holding placards and wearing awareness badges, the participants spread crucial messages on cancer prevention to the public, reinforcing the importance of early detection and lifestyle changes.

Following the rally, an awareness session was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Jins Karakkatt, Director of the Idukki Diocese Media Commission, and presided over by Fr. Thomas Madikankal, Assistant Vicar of St. George Cathedral Church.
