Farm Friend Groups
To address the critical labour shortage in Idukki, where farmers faced significant delays in agricultural activities and consequent crop losses due to unavailability of timely labour, the Society (HDS) pioneered the innovative Farm Friend Group (FFG) initiative. This initiative aims to create a professionalized agricultural labour force, similar to other sectors in society. FFG members work on an hourly basis in farmers' fields, providing timely and efficient agricultural services. Farmers can conveniently avail of these services by simply making a phone call, ensuring access to the required number of laborers whenever needed.
