Idea Program
The society successfully co-ordinates the IDEA (Integrated Development through Empowerment and Action) programme which is meant to organize the socio-welfare activities of different pious organizations and religious Congregations in the Diocese. The programme focuses on environmental protection, food security, empowerment of the marginalized etc. with the cooperation from Caritas India. Core Development Cell (CDC) and Thrust Area Committee (TAC) are the two official committees to support the IDEA programme.
Key Activities:
- Awareness Campaigns: The society conducts awareness campaigns on Environmental Protection, Water Preservation, Good Governance, and the Right to Information Act in its different units.
- Income Generation Programmes: Training programmes on mushroom cultivation, beekeeping, cow rearing, and rabbit rearing are conducted with the cooperation of Krishi Vijnan Kendra, NABARD, the Agriculture Department, and other relevant organizations.
- Counselling for Students: With the support of the Diocesan Educational Agency, the society organizes counselling sessions for students identified as having social, emotional, or behavioural imbalances.
- Interface Programmes: Common discussions are held with PRI members and other representatives to address societal issues. These discussions help in planning joint programmes with new strategies.
