Idea Programme

The society successfully co-ordinates the IDEA (Integrated Development through Empowerment and Action) programme which is meant to organize the socio-welfare activities of different pious organizations and religious Congregations in the Diocese. The programme focuses on environmental protection, food security, empowerment of the marginalized etc. with the cooperation from Caritas India. Core Development Cell (CDC) and Thrust Area Committee (TAC) are the two official committees to support the IDEA programme. The chief activities are:

A. Awareness Campaigns

Society conducts awareness campaigns on Environmental Protection, Water Preservation, Good Governance and Right to Information Act in its different units.

B. Income Generation Programmes

Society conducts training programmes on mushroom cultivation, bee keeping, cow rearing and rabbit rearing with the co-operation of Krishi Vijnan Kendra, NABARD, Agriculture Department etc.

C.Counselling for Students

Society with the support of the Diocesan Educational Agency organises counselling for students who have been identified as having social, emotional or behavioural imbalances.

D.Anti-Drugs Campaigns

The Society in association with Madya Virudha Samithy and Diocesan Educational Agency conducts anti-drugs campaigns in all the schools in its operational area and anti drug squads are formed under the leadership of selected teachers and children.

E.Interface Programmes

HDS conducts common discussions with PRI members and other people representatives to address the common issues of the society. This helps to plan out joint programmes with new strategies.
