Sustainability through Participation, Empowerment and Decentralization (SPED-III)

HDS in collaboration with Save A Family Plan, India organizing developmental activities in 20 villages of Nedumkandom area. The focus was given during this year for primary requirements of the people and Awareness on ill effects of Alcoholism. As part of this, 12 approach roads, one waiting shed, one drainage, 98 soil bunds, 25 stone bund, one safety wall, one water tank, 200 rain pit, 6 nos. of well renovation, one rain water harvesting system, 6 bio gas plants, one small bridge and a waste management system were completed during this year. Candle Production unit, Soap production units and a PSC coaching centre are running now. Awareness class on renewable energy conservation and use of Solar Lantern conducted in 14 villages. Counselling programmmes organized at 4 schools in the project area. Distributed Teaching Learning Materials at Anganwadis.
